The events with the Orient Dining Express are organised by Steam Train Maldegem-Eeklo to support their activities so that they can restore and maintain the entire collection. The whole organisation of these events are possible thanks to the help of our volunteers.
On board of the Orient Dining Express you will travel back in time to the sixties and seventies, when these restaurant trains of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (the international company of sleeping trains) used the international connections on the daily.
The chef, the employees of the caterer and our volunteers work together to give you an unforgettable experience.
Since we only have 12 tables available per carriage (a total of 24 tables), booking in advance is not possible. We think that every visitor has to right to be treated in the same way.
If you want to celebrate with a bigger group – with family, friends or colleagues – you can also rent your own exclusive Orient Dining Express (minimum of 20 people).
Both the departure and the arrival is the railway station of Maldegem; at the official address of Steam Train Maldegem-Eeklo : stationsplein 8, 9990 Maldegem. There is enough parking space in the surrounding streets.

During the train ride itself, our equipment on board is very limited. That’s why we are not able to provide an alternative on the day of the event. We kindly ask you to let us know in advance.
Due to the historical setting in our trains, we are not able to offer facilities for nurturing young children. Because of the limited space to pass by the door or in the hallways, it is not possible to get on board with a wheelchair or a baby wagon.
We love pets and they are welcome in our regular steam and diesel trains, but not on the Orient Dining Express because of the unique and fragile interior.
